OPTIMALISASI PROSES EKSTRAKSI MINYAK BIJI NYAMPLUNG MENGGUNAKAN RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY (RSM)

Nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) is a plant with great potential as fuel source that can be developed in Indonesia. The oil content of nyamplung seeds 60-75%. This study aims to optimize the process extracting from using hexane solvent at various operating conditions and obtain optimum extraction conditions. In stage, will carried out several variations, namely temperature (35-45oC); time (4-6 hours); stirring speed (200-600 rpm), optimizing was Response Surface Methodology (RSM). obtained then characterized through analyzes, yield, acid number, density viscosity. Based on research results, optimization seed resulted an yield 52.43% which 40oC, 5 hours 500 rpm stirrer speed. Optimization aim maximizing response 55.33% 45oC, 6 600 each quality does not produce significant model response. resulting number 10.51 mgKOH/g, 0.94 g/ml, viscosity 4.47 cP.Keywords: calophyllum, oil, optimization, surface methodology
